Just good humans.

I wish everyone could have sat through Jara and Barrett's wedding ceremony. As their officiant, Dr. Schake (a past livestock judging coach) described the couple I couldn't help but get goosebump. He spoke of them as individuals who were two of the very best role models in the junior livestock industry - and quite frankly I couldn't agree more. It was quite evident as the two recited their vowels to each other, they were comfortable speaking, just this time it wasn't in a show ring evaluating livestock. This time they were declaring their love for each other in front of all their closest friends and family.

In the few years I have got to know both Jara and Barrett it was easy to see why so many looked up to them. First of all, Jara embraces all the things a strong women should embody. She's taught me to be confident in the person that I am, be proud of the things that I have done and shown me the true power of supporting those around me. Jara even tossed a "flower bomb," during her bouquet toss. If you don't know what that is (because I didn't) it's bundle of smaller bouquets so that multiple ladies received a small bouquet. This was just a small part of her day that is an example of the way the couple chooses to love people.

I actually met Jara through a project for my full-time job. I was lucky enough to interview and write a story about her while working alongside my friend and talented coworker Max. Who knew a few years later Max and I, along with another talented coworker, Whitney, would be working together to photograph her wedding - it was so cool to have #TeamAngus working together outside of the walls of the Association.

I feel so lucky, but also extremely proud to get to serve clients who have such a strong foundation of character, work ethic, and true humility. It was a great, great day.
